About

I grew in Zimbabwe in Southern Africa and moved to the UK as a teenager. My home is now in Warwickshire where many of my stories are set. I spent nearly three decades teaching the local primary school children and occasionally writing academic articles and short pieces for educational magazines.

I have now left teaching and am able to dedicate as much time (and time wasting) as I like to writing. I love children’s fiction with supernatural and ecological elements. I believe in the need for a sustainable and just society. Climate change is a real threat.

I paint and draw – portraits and landscapes in watercolour or oil, and I do all my own illustrations for my books and video games.

I am also a gigging musician: I play saxophones and bass in various local bands.

Animals are the best. I live with a rescue boxer dog, ‘Blue’, and a 20 year old goldfish called ‘Duck’.
